Reclassified Flood Zones by FEMA

You may also not be aware that FEMA is reclassifying Flood Zones based on the recent floods. You may have not been located in a HIGH RISK Flood Zone before, but you may have been reclassified, and may now be at risk. If you have a current Package or Property policy that includes Flood coverage, the coverage may now be excluded.

In addition, you may not know that your standard FLOOD policy issued by FEMA, has extremely limited coverage for basements. Please CLICK HERE to see what is covered in a basement. Also, LOSS OF RENTS / BUSINESS INCOME cannot be covered on a FEMA Flood policy. The policy will only cover the building and the elements of the building that are essential to operate the building. See LINK. Habitational buildings can be insured up to $250,000 and Commercial buildings can be insured up to $500,000.
